Frequently
Asked
Questions

  • Mindfulness is a technique that helps us notice our thoughts and feelings but not get caught up in them. By creating distance from our busy, emotional minds we can experience a sense of peace and calm.

  • Meditation is sitting formally, focusing on our breath or body sensations. As we do this we experience greater ease and freedom. In all mindfulness courses we sit in chairs, with the option to lie down.

  • If you’re stressed or busy and need an internal break, learning some daily mindfulness techniques can release stress and make all the difference. You’ll find yourself feeling less tense and even more able to access creative solutions when a lot of thinking or analysis hasn’t helped.

  • No. Mindfulness focusses on the body too because body and mind are connected and affect one another.

Mindfulness helps us to tune in to body sensations: If a part of the body is contracted our breathing is inhibited and tension increases so we can become irritable or angry.

Mindfulness helps us to increase body awareness and to notice and soften body sensations by using our breath so that emotional thinking can be better regulated.
